Everyday we dress ourselves for work or activities for the day. The bible uses the term dress or clothe yourself to show symbolism of our new nature. A posture we should take daily as we walk around in this world.
Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Ephesians 4:24 NLT
Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires. Romans 13:14 NLT
In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5 NLT
How do we dress ourselves? One, we put on our new nature. We removed our sinful nature by denying ourselves daily. Then we look to know our Creator and become like him. This makes us willing to be a living sacrifice and love others regardless of their emotional feeling that day. We are meant to be righteous or other words, virtuous. Having the mindset of moral excellence in all we do. Leading our lives with personal integrity, moral courage, and godliness. We also clothe ourselves we kindness, gentleness, mercy, and patience. All that reflects the very character of God. The more you dress yourselves daily then you will be training yourself towards a godly life.
We are also behavioral beings and work in patterns. Some might realize this or not, but there is power in a routine. Though as mentioned before our sinful nature is a pattern, we can be a slave to if we don’t recognize it. As you dress yourself take the time to train yourself to be godly daily. We accomplish godliness daily by imitating God in everything we do. As you train you will start to pattern yourself just like Paul speaks of:
Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. Philippians 3:17 NLT
Every morning after your devotion time and as you are getting dressed for work. Visualize yourself putting on Christ over yourself. Clothe yourself in His righteousness and the armor of God (refer to Armor Building). Arm yourself with the Word of God and prayer to prepare to for the day ahead.
The best way to prepare yourself for anything in life is preparation. This is taking initiative to arm yourselves for what could come. Dressing yourself is declaring that you will follow Jesus and His ways throughout the day. You are listening to Him and abiding to His way of living.
“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.” Colossians 3:10 NLT

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Colossians 3:12 NLT
“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14 NLT
“And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.” Galatians 3:27 NLT
“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 NLT
